Health Canada Officially Bans BPA in Canada

Canada has become the first country to formally declare Bisphenol-A (BPA) hazardous to humans. The baby product industry is now on notice that it can no longer use this chemical in baby products.

What is Bisphenol-A?

Bisphenol-A (BPA)is a hormone disrupting chemical used in baby bottles or any type of hard plastic containers. It is also found in the lining of canned goods, plastic wrap and other plastics. There have been concerns about this chemical since the 1930's!

When tested on animals, the resuls show the following...and these are just a few of the results...

  • a tendency to develop diabetes

  • obesity

  • enlarged prostates

  • changes in the breast tissue that suggest being prone to breast cancer

  • a cluster of slight deformities in the male reproductive tract that scientists call "feminization."
