Be a true green diva with the Canadian made DivaCup! The DivaCup is the answer to non eco-friendly, wasteful and expensive disposables.
The DivaCup is a non-absorbent menstrual cup that simply collects menstrual flow. It is inserted in the vagina and sits at the lower base of the vaginal canal. It is worn internally, yet because it is soft and smooth, it cannot be felt nor will it leak when inserted properly.
The DivaCup is perfect for all activities and will give you true freedom without the worry, guessing and unreliability that disposable feminine hygiene products pose. It can be worn for up to 12 hours before emptying, washing and reinserting for use for another 12 hours. It can be used for light or moderate flows and is emptied more often to accommodate heavy flows. It's perfect for overnight use.
The DivaCup's expert, proprietary, patent-pending features make it comfortable and assures ease of use and reliability. Perfect for traveling, running, biking, hiking, dancing, camping, swimming, diving, scuba, yoga, extreme sports and more...

Model 1 is designed for women who are under 30 years old who have never delivered vaginally or by caesarean section.
Model 2 is designed for women who are are 30 or over 30 years old, because as we age, our hips naturally widen and the vaginal muscles lose elasticity. Because the vaginal muscles hold The DivaCup in place, it is important to use Model 2 if you are over 30, even if you have not had childbirth.
There is a small difference between the two sizes (Model 1 is 1/8" (~0.3 cm) smaller), but it is important to use the recommended sizing to prevent leakage.

DivaCup FAQ
Is the DivaCup Messy?
Almost every woman's initial reaction to The DivaCup is, "Ewww! That's gross!" When tampons were first introduced it took quite a while before the concept caught on. Once you take the time to learn about The DivaCup, and actually try it for yourself, you will be pleasantly surprised about how clean and NOT messy it really is.
The cup sits low in the vaginal canal and you can avoid reaching inside the vagina by pushing the cup out slightly. Simply bear down on the muscles for removal. Most women find that once they start using The DivaCup that every other method is messy and gross!
Just imagine a product that actually lives up to its expectations: no leaking, no odor, convenient, comfortable, clean AND helps to save the planet! It's hard to believe that all this could be a reality, but try it for yourself and you will see that it is true.
Can you feel The DivaCup when you are wearing it?
If you can "feel" the cup, it has not been inserted properly. Please see our inserting and removing FAQ. Because The DivaCup is made of soft silicone that actually softens with body heat, you should not feel the cup. The DivaCup is totally different than the sensation of tampons. The DivaCup does not dry out the vagina, so it is extremely comfortable. You won't even know it's there!
Can The DivaCup be used for light and heavy flows? The DivaCup works very well for women with light or heavy flows. The DivaCup holds one full ounce and the average women only flows about three to four ounces in her entire cycle. For most women, the cup is not even half full after 12 hours.
We always recommend you empty the cup, wash, rinse it, and reinsert it at least every 12 hours (2 times a day) even if your flow is light.
Women with heavy flows will simply need to empty the cup more often. The convenient ounces and milliliters measurement feature allows women to actually keep track of flow and accurately report flow details to their health professional..
How do I clean The DivaCup?
The DivaCup should always be thoroughly cleaned. Washing the cup in mild soap and warm water provides sufficient cleansing. The best cleaning agent to use is The DivaWash. We have formulated it as a pH balanced wash that is best for the cup and you, because it does not leave residue. Remember to wash your hands before inserting and removing your DivaCup.
The DivaCup's top quality, healthcare grade silicone can tolerate high temperatures. At the end of each cycle The DivaCup should be washed and rinsed as specified and may be boiled by submerging in an open pan of boiling water (continuous rolling boil) for five to ten (5-10) minutes. Do not leave the boiling pot unattended and use enough water so that the pan does not boil dry.
Do not use: vinegar, tea tree oil, scented/fragranced soap, castile/peppermint castile soap or any other oil based soap, rubbing alcohol, antibacterial soap, hand sanitizer, pre-moistened wipes, hydrogen peroxide, dishwashing soap, bleach or harsh chemicals as some have been known to damage or compromise the silicone (such as a sticky or powdery film, etc.) and may need to be replaced to avoid irritations, burning, etc. If you have cleaned your DivaCup with any of the non-recommended cleansers, replace the cup if there are any signs of deterioration or you experience irritation.
We do not recommend cleaning The DivaCup in the dishwasher because chemicals, detergents and residue from previous dishwashing could harm the cup.
After use and proper cleaning, the cup must be placed in a storage that allows for air flow. The DivaCup comes with its own drawstring cotton pouch.
The four holes under the rim are of vital importance. They create the seal that secures the cup in place. If the holes need extra cleaning, we suggest that you fill the cup with warm water. Cover the top with your palm, sealing it up. Turn it upside down (still sealed by your palm) and then, apply pressure to the sides of The DivaCup pushing the water out through the sides. This removes residue left in the holes. To clean the stem and/or holes, you can also soak the cup in warm water for a few minutes then use a soft toothbrush (specifically designated only for the cup) for this. You can use a toothpick (discarding after use), as well. We do not suggest a pin as it may cause damage to the cup.
Where is The DivaCup manufactured?
The DivaCup is proudly made in Canada, and is constructed only of top quality silicone.
What is the shelf life of an unopened tin of Badger?
An unopened tin of Badger stored at moderate temperatures should be good for two to three years. If you open it and it smells good, it is good. Extremes in temperature and humidity will affect shelf life, so it is not possible to give an exact expiration date. The date of manufacture is imprinted on the side of the tin to give you a reference point.
Is the silicone material that The DivaCup is made from safe? Is it the same silicone used in breast implants?
Some women are concerned that silicone is dangerous because of its association with breast implants. There is a major difference between the silicone in breast implants and the silicone used in The DivaCup. The older breast implants that caused problems were made from a sac filled with silicone gel, a different material to what we use for The DivaCup. In the past, problems occurred when the sacs ruptured or improperly sealed valves allowed the silicone gel to leak into the body.
The DivaCup is made of a high quality, soft healthcare grade silicone that starts as a liquid. Then the molecules are bound together (or vulcanized) with very high heat to form a solid stable piece of silicone (similar to the feel of soft rubber). The DivaCup is cured after production in an oven at a very high temperature to make sure all the molecules are bound and "chain linked" together. Since the end product is a solid material yet flexible and durable, there is no possibility for anything to leak into the body (no leaching).
This form of silicone is odorless, latex-free, plastic-free and BPA-free. It has been used safely in healthcare applications for over 50 years. Our silicone is approved for use in The DivaCup as feminine hygiene protection by the FDA and Health Canada.
The FDA has cleared The DivaCup for use by the FDA for use as feminine hygiene protection. It also holds a current Health Canada medical device license.
